FAQs

Q: You have moved! Where is the new space?

A: Our new space, as of 3rd June 2013 is Unit 40, Longsight Business Park, Hamilton Road, Longsight, Manchester M13 0PD.

Q: How do I find your space within the complex?

A: On arrival please go to the site office and you will be directed up to the first floor and down a corridor - you will see our logo on the door.

Please don't use the freight access as this is very busy and there is NO public access this way.

Q: How can I get there on public transport?

A: From Manchester city centre the easiest way to get to The Circus House is to catch a 192 bus to the centre of Longsight. Hamilton Road is off one corner of Longsight market.

From Stockport you can get the 197 down the A6 and depart just after the Aldi supermarket. If you use the 50 or 130 route you will need to walk up Dickinson road towards Longsight market.

From Wilmslow road you can either walk the length of Dickinson road or catch the 53 or 54.  If you are coming from Hyde road or Belle Vue train station then the 173 and 53 will go down Stanley Grove which is a short walk from Hamilton road.

Q: What if I have a push bike?

A: There is space to chain up outside – there is a security guard on site. Please let the main site office know you are visiting The Circus House.

Q: I Drive a car/van/motorbike, is there parking?

A: There is Parking for all vehicles. You MUST check-in and obtain a parking pass from the site office (not The Circus House office). Please tell the security guard you are here to use The Circus House. If you do not have a pass you will be clamped and we (The Circus House) cannot un-clamp you as it is a contractor who runs the car park.

Q: How old do you have to be for the youth circus?

A: Youth circus is open for young people aged 7 to 18. Adult classes can be accessed from the age of 17 with parent/guardian consent.

Q: Why do I need to fill in forms?

A: All information is kept confidential. We need contact information to keep you up to date with classes and to let you know if there is a cancellation at short notice. We also need to know about ailments, injuries and emergency contacts. We use demographic information in applications for funding.

Q: What should I wear?

A: Please wear clothes suitable to move in. For trapeze, silks and aerial hoop we ask for you not to have bare legs and suggest leggings.

Q: I don’t think I’m very fit. Can I do trapeze?

A: Circus is inclusive. We believe if you can hold your bodyweight for 3 seconds you will be able to do trapeze. Everyone learns differently and our instructors will help you every step of the way to achieve your goals.

Q: How can I pay for classes?

A: Membership costs £25 for all new members and runs from the 1st of June to 30th of May.

We ask for three classes to be paid up front. You can pay in cash or cheque and there are cash machines close by on Stockport road (A6).

If you are on the £60 trapeze and membership scheme please talk to your tutor about paying in two instalments.
